New: Delivery Areas πŸ—Ί 🚚

Now this is exciting! As an alternative to using zip codes or Depot connections on your Order Switch - we're now introducing Delivery Areas. This means that you can now draw on a map where and when you're delivering. Here's a breakdown on what you can do:

  • Create an Order Switch using Delivery Areas and add the Depots you wish to draw areas for.

  • When drawing an area, you can assign it to specific Delivery Groups, weekdays, and specify its zone.

  • Each Depot will get its own color so it's easily visualized on the map. You can regenerate the colors if you want

  • Each Delivery Area will get its own pattern, this can also be regenerated

  • To find if an address is within an area or not, you can simply search for the address on the map and get a result

The long-term objective of Delivery Areas is to connect with defined time windows (and capacity management). This will allow you to offer narrower time windows in very specific areas (often central urban), while opting for larger time windows in rural areas.

Next up for us is to develop support for specifying time windows to Order Switches and Depots - more on that will come soon. This will allow you to offer narrower time windows in very specific areas (often dense, urban areas), while opting for larger time windows in rural areas.
