A depot is a physical location where each route starts from. In this guide, you’ll learn how to create a depot and customise its settings.
To create a new depot, start by clicking on ‘Account’ in the left-hand menu and go to the Depots page by clicking on ‘Depots’ in the top menu.
Next, click on the ‘Create Depot’ button located in the upper right-hand corner.
Depot details
A modal will appear where you can start customising the settings of the depot. The following information is required:
Depot name - Enter the name of your depot. This is an internal name so it’s completely up to you what you want to call it.
Address - Street name and street number
City and zip code
Country code and driver support number - This depot number will be accessible for the drivers in the Driver App if they need assistance.
Routing settings
Set a default service time. This is an estimate of the time it takes for the driver to deliver an order, from when they arrive at the destination to when they mark the order as delivered. This value can be overridden from the ‘Planning’ module.
Loading settings
Load settings are considered during routing to account for the loading aspects of the route, such as the time needed to load the vehicle before starting the route.
You can choose between dynamic or fixed loading time:
‘Dynamic’ - The total loading time will be calculated based on the number of orders. Specify the loading time per order in seconds in the input box below.
‘Fixed’ - The total loading time will be the same regardless of the number of orders. Specify the total loading time for the route in minutes in the box below.
Next, add the number of loading gates available at the depot. You can input the gates in various formats, including:
As numbers separated by commas, e.g. 1,2,3,10
As intervals, e.g 1-5
A combination of the two above: e.g. 1-3,10
Save and create the depot
To save the changes and create a new depot, click on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom.
