Once you've selected your orders and given your batch a name, it's time to add vehicles and their availability. This is a crucial part of the route planning process and depending on your choices, the outcome may differ.

Read more: Don't miss our article on Vehicle Availability that explains the impact of using different settings and what strategies you can apply.

There are three ways you can add vehicles to a batch:

  • From new settings (i.e. start from scratch)

  • From existing presets

  • ...or a combination of both 🆕

✨ From New Settings

Start from scratch and define your vehicle availability. To make it easier to manage, we’ve divided this process into three different sections:

  • Vehicles

  • Capacity

  • Breaks

All vehicles will receive the same settings. To add vehicles with different availability or capacity, press “Add” -> “From new settings” and repeat the steps again.

⚙️ Vehicle Settings

Go through the section from top to bottom and fill out the fields that the route engine should consider. There are both required and optional fields to this section.

☕️ Break Settings

Ensuring that drivers get some time to breathe during the route is absolutely necessary if you want them to perform with high quality. You can add one or several breaks on each route.

Add the length of the break and set a time range for when you want the break to occur. The routing will automatically assign at a suitable time.

Example

Break time (min): 15

Start: 13:00

End: 14:30

This will add a 15-minute break between 13:00 and 14:30.

➕ Create preset

Once you’ve added vehicles to a batch, you can save your settings as a preset. This is great for quick and easy access to your vehicles on a regular basis. More information on presets can be found here.

💾 From Presets

You can also add vehicles from your presets by pressing “Add” -> “From presets”. This will open up a modal that lists all existing presets created on your company account.

Search for specific presets or use the filter to see presets created by different users. Select the preset you’d like and add to your vehicles.

Note: You can add multiple presets to your vehicles. You can also combine presets and add vehicles from new settings.
