Sometimes you plan your routes and a new order comes in at a later stage. Last Mile offers flexibility that allows you to update a route afterwards with the new order.
In this article, we'll have a closer look at how you can add an order to an already existing route. Please note that the order can't be planned for this feature to work.
How to use the 'add to route' feature
Find the order that you want to add to a route and go to the order details.
Click on the Actions button (
⋮
) and select 'Add to route'This will prompt a modal with potential routes where the order can be added.
You're presented with some useful information, including:
Route name
Route status
Route start & end time
Route duration
Order stop number
Estimated delivery time for the order
Preview of the route with stops plotted out on the map
Select the route you want to be updated with a new stop.
Press 'Add stop to route' and the order will be added to the route at the suggested stop number.
Add stop manually
You can also choose where on the route you want the stop to be added. Follow the steps above until you've reached step 5.
Select the route you want to be updated with a new stop.
Click 'Add stop manually'
Select what stop number you can the order to be added in conjunction with.
Choose whether you want the stop to be inserted before or after the selected stop.
Press 'Add stop to route' and the order will be added to the route at the suggested stop number.
In this case, the order will be added after stop 3, and it'll receive stop number 3.5.
