In this guide, you will discover all about how to choose the specific orders you want to include in your routes using filters and the lasso tool within the Planning module.

Finding your orders

Start by finding your orders in the Planning module.

  1. Go to the Planning module by clicking on ‘Planning’ in the left-side menu.

  2. Make sure you are on the route tab.

  3. Select the date of when your orders are to be delivered in the date picker.

Now you should be able to see a list of depots under the ‘Depot’ section on the Route tab. If not, please ensure that you have imported your orders correctly and have selected the correct date.

Selecting orders to plan

Orders are routed by depots, and you can route orders from one depot at a time. The number next to each depot’s name represents the total number of orders for that depot and date. Once you have selected a depot, its associated orders will appear on the map to the right.

By default, all orders within the selected depot will be included in the routing. You can verify this at the bottom of the routing tab, where the total orders match the number of orders for the depot.

If you don’t want to route all orders at once, you can use filters or the lasso tool to specify which orders you want to include in the routing.

Filter orders

You can apply filters to select subsets of orders for routing. When you apply a filter, the map will update to display only the orders you've included. You can choose as many filters as you like. To see the number of currently selected orders, check the 'Total orders' count at the bottom of the route tab.

There are three types of filters to help you select orders:

  • Delivery group: If you have multiple delivery groups in your account you can choose to route them separately or together by using this filter.

  • Time window: Select what time windows you want to route. This gives you the opportunity to route the entire day at once. You can also group time windows to create morning routes and afternoon routes.

  • Area and Zone: Addresses and zip codes can be grouped by areas and zones in the order switch. This will help to identify orders in the same geographical area. Decide if you want to route them separately or together by using this filter.

Lasso tool

If you need to refine your order selection further or filter orders based on their coordinates and geographical location, you can use the lasso tool. The lasso tool allows you to manually select orders on the map that you wish to include in the routing. To learn more about how to use the lasso tool, visit this page.
